Like a Tree Planted by the Waters

Like a Tree Planted by the Waters Sermon 8/27/2023
How to remain faithful in times of great distress
Elijah was faithful when having to deliver a terrible prophecy to King Ahab, he was faithful during a time of drought, he was faithful when he was under the threat of death, and he was faithful even when he was depressed and wanted to die! How?
7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. 8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit. – Jeremiah 17:7-8

37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” – John 7:37-38

Without Christ we cannot GROW (photosynthesis and Nutrient Transport), we cannot STAND (Cell Turgor), we have no PROTECTION (transpiration), and we cannot be HEALTHY (Supporting Metabolic and Biochemical reactions)
-
In Christ there doesn’t have to be FEAR or ANXIETY when this world brings the HEAT…and the DROUGHT!
-
What does the heat look like?

DESPITE the heat and drought, the leaf will be green and you will not cease from yielding fruit!
